Mf PerkinsJohnny Whitfield Perkins, age 77, resident of Somerville, Tennessee and husband of Jeanne Mae Spencer Perkins, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee.

Johnny Perkins was born July 18, 1944 in Somerville, Tennessee. He received his education in the Fayette County School System and served his country in the United States Army. He was married July 18, 1970 to Jeanne Spencer Perkins and a lifelong resident of Fayette County. He was a drywall construction worker throughout his life before his retirement. Mr. Perkins enjoyed hunting, fishing and drag racing in younger years and special times with his family and friends. He was a member of Antioch Methodist Church in Somerville.

Mr. Perkins is survived by his wife, Jeanne Perkins of Somerville, Tennessee and his brother, Jimmy Perkins (MaryAnn) of Paragould, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Lee Perkins and Betty Morris Glover Perkins; two sisters, Muriel Perkins Davidson and Betty Perkins Bobbitt; eight nieces and three nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Perkins will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Bro. Carl Doyle of Oakland officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery at Laconia, Tennessee. A visitation for Mr. Perkins will be from 10 A.M. to 12 Noon Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Lee Doyle, Scott Hensley, Kelley Green, Jimmy “Mutt” Perkins, Austin Green and Garrett Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be David Fortune, Ray Glover, O’Neil Markle, Ronnie Markle and Audie Bishop.
