Michael Alan Thomas

Image1Michael Alan Thomas, age 63, resident of Somerville, Tennessee, went to be with his Lord And Savior on February 2,2022. He passed peacefully at St Francis Barlett.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father of Collierville, Tennessee, Albert and Gertrue Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Nancy of 38 years, son, Brant Thomas of Olive Branch, Mississippi from a previous marriage, daughters, Kalynn Bearden (Scott) of Charlotte, Tennessee, and Kourtney Hudson (Ben) of Chapel Hill, Tennessee; grandchildren, Wyatt, Silas, Lexi and Saylor; his brother, Wayne Thomas (Mary Lou); his sister, Elaine Owens (Lee); and many nieces and nephews.

Mike was born on March 14, 1958 in Memphis Tennessee. He was raised and worked on a family dairy farm. He graduated from Fayette Academy in 1975 and married Nancy in 1983. In the first few years of marrying Nancy, they would travel with the Associated  Milk Producers inc. He also served as president of AMPI Southern Region Young Cooperators Program.  He managed Hickory Withe Bank and sold real estate for John Green in Collierville Tennessee and he also enjoyed working with the Fayette County Election Commission. Mike battled several rounds of cancer along with other health issues for many years but it didn’t stop him from enjoying his girls, Kalynn and Kourtney, who he spoke with daily and his grandchildren who he loved dearly.

He enjoyed being with his family, reading, writing poetry, watching his favorite tv shows and cooking. Mike also loved his church family. He was raised at Kirk Baptist church where he accepted Christ in 1968, and was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Memorial Services for Mr. Thomas will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Somerville with Bro. Freddie Clifft officiating. A visitation for Mr. Thomas will be from 12 noon until 2 P.M. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Memorials in his honor are asked to be sent to Shady Grove Baptist Church in Somerville, Tennessee.

The family wants to express how grateful they are for the outpouring love and support from everyone in the Somerville community. We serve an awesome God who lovingly sent His Son to die so that we may see our loved ones again.
