Henderson County inmates graduate on Friday
HENDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — One group is getting a new lease on life.
In Henderson County, inmates graduated from the first R-3 program on Friday.
Officials say the program was originally to reduce recidivism and give life skills and tools the inmates need to not return to jail.
Officials say they are so proud of the group.
“We haven’t really done anything, but provide the tools. The inmates were the ones who stepped up to the plate, volunteered to do this, and help themselves,” said Henderson County Sheriff Brian Duke.
Duke says he hopes the inmates leave the program better than when they came in.
