James Mancel George

James Mancel George, age 86, resident of Eads, Tennessee, departed this life Monday afternoon, March 21, 2022 at his home.

James was born October 23, 1935 in North Mississippi, the son of the late Mancel and Issie C. George. He went to Humes High School in Memphis with Elvis Presley and they ate lunch together. When Elvis held concerts, James enjoyed receiving special treatment backstage at concerts. He was employed as a truck driver and air conditioner technician for many years before his retirement. He was a handyman who enjoyed gardening, working in his yard and building and working on things. James will be remembered for having a kind heart who loved helping others.
