Earth Day celebration to be held on April 23
JACKSON, Tenn. — You can celebrate Earth Day and keep the Hub City beautiful all in one day.
Keep Jackson Beautiful will be holding a festival for Earth Day on April 23, according to a news release.
The release says the event will have a drive-thru recycling drop-off for a variety of items like cardboard, paper, glass, and electronics.
Tthere will also be an Earth Day 5K at 7 a.m.
“This is an opportunity to get fit and give back to your community,” said race organizer and City of Jackson, TN Groundskeeping Superintendent J.D. Sims. “All participants will receive a finisher’s medal and t-shirt. We also want the runners to stick around for the festival.”
The release says that other activities include a tree giveaway, booths, a scavenger hunt and more.
Rain or shine, the event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
