Scott’s Strolls: Mayor Conger addresses concerns on walk through neighborhood
JACKSON, Tenn. — Mayor Scott Conger, along with city department heads, are getting out into the community to discuss neighborhoods with city residents.

Monday morning, the group walked the Lambuth area to address concerns, answer questions, and look at areas to improve.
“You always want people to come to look or at least the city folks to come here to see what’s going on in the neighborhood,” said Frank McMeen, president of the Lambuth Area Neighborhood Association. “Some areas where we’re doing very, very well and then some areas where we need some assistance from the city.”
Mayor Conger says this is a great way to get out and meet people individually, and give them the chance to have a one on one conversation.
He also says by having department heads with him on these walks, some of the feedback can be addressed instantly.

“We have our department heads here,” Mayor Conger said. “Those department heads, really we can address instantly, hopefully help the sanitation, building and codes, police department and so hopefully we can address some of those as quickly as possible.”
Mayor Conger says this is just the start of his neighborhood walks.
He and the city department heads are planning to visit other neighborhoods throughout the city as well.
