Local organizations host mental health workshop in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — Sisters With Aspiring Goals, in partnership with The Salvation Army, hosts a mental health and suicide prevention workshop.

Organizations partnered to help local youth at The Salvation Army’s Worship Center.

There was information presented on mental health and suicide prevention, and tables set up for attendees to pick up flyers and participate in various activities.

“It’s empowering for us as service providers. It’s empowering for those of us who are parents. For those of us who have also lived that experience and are able to provide a service to a young
person who then gets to be the change,” said Melissa Kelly, Deputy Director for Youth Rising.
