Medicare annual election period opens October 15: What you need to know

JACKSON, Tenn. — A nationwide healthcare company discusses Medicare.

As Medicare costs continue to rise across the country, the majority of Americans are looking for a solution to save without risking their quality of care.

This applies especially to seniors who could be living on fixed incomes.

Individuals that are 65 and over, as well as those living with disabilities, have the opportunity to save money and receive quality health care by enrolling in a Medicare advantage or prescription drug plan during the annual election period.

The Senior VP of Humana, Catherine Field, discusses ways to help Medicare-eligible individuals.

“When I’m thinking about costs, I’m thinking about what you spend on your health care needs this year versus next year,” Field said. “When you think about coverage, think about are your doctors in network, are you drugs being covered by the plan, so you’re not getting into any surprises.”

The Medicare annual election period is October 15 through December 7.
