Man wanted after assault case leads to false barricade in Henry County
HENRY COUNTY, Tenn. — The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man involved in an assault case that sparked a heavy law enforcement response Thursday.
According to the sheriff’s office, an arrest warrant has been issued for 55-year-old Billy Spencer on charges of domestic assault, assault, elder abuse and interference of an emergency call.
Authorities say officers responded to a residence in the 5000 block of Old Paris Murray Road in reference to a domestic assault. A caller stated the suspect had assaulted two female victims at that location.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with one of the victims in the front yard, who said she’d been assaulted by Spencer and that he was possibly armed with two handguns.
The victim stated she believed Spencer had barricaded himself inside a bedroom in the home. The sheriff’s office says officers made several attempts to call Spencer out of the home, and after an extended period of time, they made entry into the home.
Once inside, officers determined Spencer had left the home prior to their arrival on scene without the victims’ knowledge.
Authorities say Spencer is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who comes into contact with him or knows of his whereabouts can contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at (731) 642-1672.
