1957 – 2022

Sherry Lee Hester Hunt, age 65, resident of Olive Branch, Mississippi and
wife of Robert E. Hunt, departed this life Monday morning, December 5,
2022 at Holly Springs Health and Rehabilitation.
Sherry was born May 15, 1957 in Camden, Tennessee, the daughter of the
late James Thomas Hester and Peggy Ann Ellis Parker, and her stepfather,
James L. Parker. She received her education in the DeSoto County School
System and was employed as a DeSoto County Schools bus driver for
many years before her retirement.
Sherry was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Byhalia, Mississippi
and will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She enjoyed music, gardening and yardwork.
Mrs. Hunt is survived by her husband, Robert E. Hunt of Olive Branch, MS;
two sons, Shawn Hunt (Summer) of Joiner, AR and Sawyer L. Hunt
(Jessica) of Olive Branch, MS; three sisters, Annette Chandler of Hamilton,
AL, Frances E. Bass (Roger) of Byhalia, MS and Janice Chandler of
Hamilton, AL; three brothers, James “Gary” Hester (Debbie) of Byhalia,
MS, Ronald E. Hester of Byhalia, MS and Clarence Gates, Jr. of Byhalia,
MS; four grandchildren, Mason Lee Hunt of Olive Branch, MS, Tucker Allen
Hunt of Olive Branch, MS, Shawn Luke Hunt of Joiner, AR and Adaline
Hannah Hunt of Joiner, AR.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Hunt will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, December
10, 2022 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Oscar
Geeslin officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethel Cemetery at Olive
Branch, Mississippi. A visitation for Mrs. Hunt will be from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M.
Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at
Oakland.
