Investigation leads to TennCare fraud charge for West TN woman

COVINGTON, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation announces a TennCare fraud charge for one West Tennessee woman.

According to the TBI, in March 2022, agents began investigating fraudulent time sheets submitted for in-home care services for a TennCare patient, after receiving information from the Division of TennCare’s Office of Program Integrity.

TBI says during the investigation, agents determined 62-year-old Gloria Williamson, of Covington, was the person responsible for the false time sheets.

A news release states between March and November 2020, Williamson is believed to have submitted 17 claims for in-home service on dates that her client was in the hospital.

According to the release, agents secured a warrant for Williamson’s arrest on a count of TennCare fraud on December 15. On January 6, 2023, Williamson was cited at the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office and released on her own recognizance.
