Lane College receives grant

JACKSON, Tenn. — Lane College was among two colleges to receive a grant on Monday.

According to a news release, Lane received a portion of the Connecting Minority Communities Pilot Program, which is run by the Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration.

Lane received more than $470,000 for their “Digital Equity & Innovation Project.” The release says the goals of the project include building a virtual learning environment and creating a healthy community through workforce training and community programs.

The other school receiving funding is the American Baptist Theological Seminary. Together, the release says the two schools received a total of more than $3.4 million.
