Member of the Year named at local club
JACKSON, Tenn. — A local club has named one of their own as Member of the Year for displaying exemplary leadership and dedication.

The Jackson Exchange Club met Tuesday at the DoubleTree Hotel to not only surprise, but to honor and recognize her for her many years of hard work.
“I think I’ve already celebrated. I’m going to celebrate by going back to work. You know, just taking it all in. I’m still just in shock that my peers voted for me,” said Lynne Henning, who was chosen to be Member of the Year.
Henning has been a part of the club for almost two decades. Henning has served several different roles over the years.
“In 2005, I was the vice president, I guess getting ready to assume the role of president. And I have been a chair of the membership committee in the past and currently serve as the chairperson of the youth committee for the local club,” Henning said.

The club is affiliated to the Carl Perkins Center, which is dedicated to the prevention of child abuse.
Henning says her plans moving forward are to continue to support recognize the outstanding young students in local high schools.
“You know, accomplishments to the club and letting the whole community see the great young people that we have around here that are making a difference. You know, to just keep doing everything we can to try to support the center and just trying to make a difference in these young people’s lives,” Henning said.
Henning feels honored and grateful to be recognized this year.

“I just appreciate all my family, and my friends, and my coworkers for coming out today to support me. It means a great deal to me to, you know, to have people, my pastor, to come out and just, you know, help me receive this great gift that the Exchange Club has given to me,” Henning said.
