Several spring events planned at Casey Jones Village

JACKSON, Tenn. — Several spring events are being held in west Jackson mid-March.

Brooks Shaw’s Old Country Store and Casey Jones Village will be holding several family friendly events.

The first of the events will be the Casey Jones Craft Camp at the Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum.

The free craft class will be for kids up to 10-years-old, and will be in a St. Patrick’s Day theme. Cookies, fruit and tea will be offered as a refreshment.

It will be at 10:30 a.m. for kids aged zero to six, and at 1:30 p.m. for kids aged seven to 10 on March 13 and March 14, and March 16 and March 17.

The week after, from March 24 to March 31, then April 7 and April 14, live music will fill the Delta Room of the Old Country Store from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Local musicians will play while guests can enjoy the great food from the buffet.

“We’re excited to offer a diverse schedule of programs this spring,” Old Country Store General Manager Brooks Shaw said. “Each event has been curated to benefit, encourage and support our guests in their daily lives.”

On April 4 in the Delta Room, there will be the Recovery Ally Training lunch-and-learn with guest speaker Amy Bechtol.

Tickets are need for the event, which will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. They can be bought online here.

A box lunch will be provided, according to the release.

On April 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a petting zoo will be set up in The Farm of the Casey Jones Village. Animals that will be there include lemurs and a bottle-fed baby kangaroo!
