$170,000 worth of meth seized in local city
JACKSON, Tenn. — A multi-agency investigation has led to the seizure of methamphetamine.
According to the Weakley County Sheriff’s Office on Facebook, a several month-long investigation led to the capture of around 34 pounds of meth in Jackson on April 1.
The sheriff’s office says the investigation began in Weakley County, but began to lead to other counties.
The meth that was seized was on its way to Weakley and Obion counties, valuing around $170,000.
The Weakley County Sheriff’s Office shared their appreciation to those who helped prevent this meth from entering their counties.
Those who helped with the investigation include the 27th Judicial Drug Task Force, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Jackson Police Department Major Crimes Vice Unit.
