City of Jackson to offer series of Earth Day events
JACKSON, Tenn. — The City of Jackson and Madison County are preparing a series of events to celebrate Earth Day, and organizers are asking for your help.

The City of Jackson’s Health and Sanitation Department is offering a Community Clean Up day on April 22 from 8 a.m. to noon.
A bulk waste drop-off event will be available at the Jackson Fairgrounds. It will allow residents to dispose of large items such as tires, mattresses, furniture, and bulk items that are more than 50 pounds. TDOT and the Health and Sanitation Department will provide tarps to the first 75 people who attend the event.
Direct Shred of Jackson will also be at the Fairgrounds offering free paper shredding services.
Keep Jackson Beautiful will also celebrate Earth Day by requesting volunteers to participate in a community-wide litter pickup event. That event will also be held on Saturday, April 22.
