UPDATE: Free ride to the polls cancelled
UPDATE:
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Transit Authority says the Free Ride to the Poll Day has been cancelled.
Anyone with questions is asked to call their office.
EARLIER STORY:
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Transit Authority will be providing free rides to polling locations on Election Day.
Through a partnership with Jackson City Councilman Johnny Dodd, JTA will offer the rides to Jackson citizens on May 2.
A news release states transportation will pick up riders from their home inside city limits, and return them back home after they have cast their vote.
Reservations must be made before 4 p.m. on Monday, May 1 by calling the JTA office at (731) 423-0200.
