Derby party raises money for a great cause

JACKSON, Tenn. —Annual event is held in the Hub City for a great cause.

The Talk Derby to Me, Kentucky Derby party was held on Saturday here in Jackson at the Jackson Country Club.

There was food, games, a best hat contest, a silent auction, and more. The Jackson Service League created this event, and is grateful to everyone who came out.

Co-chair for the event, Lindsay Kilburn explains the inspiration behind this event.

“Last year, we decided to come up with a unique event. We haven’t seen any derby parties really around Jackson. We decided to make this a fundraiser and it did really well. We decided to do it again this year,” Kilburn said.

The Jackson Service League was established in 1952, and is a non-profit organization with the initiative to help other non-profit organizations that serve women and children.
