Community Foundation awards $55,000 in grants
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Community Foundation of West Tennessee has awarded $55,000 to seven organizations.
The Foundation began awarding Community Impact Grants in 2016. Through this program, the organization has granted more than $200,000.
Previous organizations funded have been in the arts, education, youth programs, and more.
The organizations who received awards were:
- Boys & Girls Club of Jackson — $10,000
- Habitat for Humanity Jackson — $10,000
- Hands Up! Preschool — $11,000
- Jonah Affordable Housing — $7,000
- Regional Inter-Faith Association (RIFA) — $10,000
- United Way of West Tennessee — $4,000
- WRAP (Wo/Men’s Resource and Rape Assistance Program) — $3,000
“As we move forward into this new transition as the Community Foundation of West Tennessee, we hope the community will donate and help us support so we can continue to grow the impact we make for local organizations like WRAP, and RIFA, and Habitat and the other award recipients,” said Haley Wildridge, the Community Outreach Associate for the Community Foundation of West Tennessee.
This year, the grants focused on projects and initiatives that benefit the health and well-being of residents in Madison County.
A priority was given to projects that impact children aged eight and younger.
