Community gathers for a special cookout in the Hub City

A special cookout is held in the Hub City.

The Love Your Block team hosted a community cookout on Saturday.

Attendees of the event got to meet Love Your Block recipients, enjoy free food, and there were plenty of games for kids to play.

Neighborhood Services Director, Abby Palmer thanks everyone who played a part in making this event a success.

“We’ve invited the whole community to come out. All of our volunteers, everybody that has worked with us. We’ve got some hot dogs and hamburgers grilling, the fire department is grilling them for us. We have some games and things like that, so we are really excited,” Palmer said.

This cookout was held in celebration of 14 home projects completed this year, where Love Your Block helped change the lives of Jackson residents.
