City of Jackson begins leaf pickup for the season

JACKSON, Tenn. – The City of Jackson’s city-wide leaf pickup season is now underway.

The City of Jackson’s grounds keeping began collecting leaves Wednesday morning.

During this time, crews swept the area, picking up raked leaves.

You won’t need to call to request leaf pick-up, but your leaves must be raked into piles at the edge of the street in order to be picked up.

Sticks and limbs will need to be placed in a separate pile.

“We’re just excited to be able to provide this service for citizens again. We have door hangers that will be provided with a reason why their pile was skipped,” said JD Sims, the Superintendent of Groundskeeping.

The city says that any pile of leaves with excess limbs will be skipped.
