Interstate exits at Hollywood Drive to reopen later this week
JACKSON, Tenn. – Those traveling the area of Hollywood Drive exit on Interstate 40 east and westbound will notice some changes this weekend.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation announced today that I-40 will reopen the exits that were closed due to construction from a widening project that has been taking place for a little over a year now.
“The two ramps that we previously closed in May, the Hollywood exit to I-40 westbound and I-40 eastbound exit to Hollywood, are reopening Friday night. It’ll be late Friday night. So hopefully everyone will get up Saturday morning that travel that area of Jackson and see those new ramps open,” said Nichole Lawrence, the Community Relations Officer with TDOT.
This is the third segment of widening I-40 through Jackson to add capacity to the interstate.
“I-40 around Jackson has around 45,000 miles of vehicles that travel through everyday. So any time we can add capacity and safety features by reconfiguring some of those ramps like we are opening Friday night is always a big plus for us,” Lawrence said.
This is part of a $37 million project and is estimated to be completed next spring.
After this project finishes up in the spring, it will be the completion of widening miles throughout Jackson.
