I’m Jessica Rudd the Recruiter and Retention Officer at the Rutherford Fire Department. I’ve been in the fire service since 2017. I enjoy the fire service because I’m able to give back and help the community when they need it most. It’s a job that’s rewarding, giving, and very well respected. Being in the fire service has allowed me as a firefighter to experience so many great opportunities in my career. I’ve been allowed to move up in my career to my role as a Recruiting and Retention officer. The job as a firefighter has so many great opportunities for men and women of all ages. I started out as a volunteer firefighter in 2017, and then became a full-time firefighter in 2022. This opportunity gives you the chance to follow your dreams or interest in becoming a firefighter at no cost to you. In 2023 I took the role as a Recruiting and Retention Officer because I want to spread the word of how great it is to be able to help those in need. In 2017 started my whole career and enabled me to get to where I’m at today. It’s one of the greatest jobs in the world and you gain an extra family in the process.
