JTA to offer free rides for canned food donations
PRESS RELEASE FROM MELINDA CLARK, JACKSON TRANSIT AUTHORITY:
JTA’s Annual Food Drive
The Jackson Transit Authority (JTA) will hold its 34th Annual Food Drive to benefit the Regional Inter-Faith Association Food Bank on Wednesday and Thursday, November 8th and 9th, on all JTA services. The drive helps people in Jackson and West Tennessee have a bountiful holiday season this year.
All JTA’s riders will have the chance to donate a canned food and receive a free ride for the donation when boarding. JTA’s riders “can” do this as often as they would like during these two days.
The exchange of canned foods for fares will only be accepted on November 8th and 9th. If you do not have a canned food, regular and discount fares will remain the same and transfers are free.
In addition, donations will be accepted at the main office located at 38 Eutah Street, Jackson, Tennessee 38301. For more information about this or any matter, please call JTA at 731-423-0200 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays.
