Tennessee’s grocery tax holiday ends Tuesday night

JACKSON, Tenn. — Calling all shoppers!

A friendly reminder that groceries have been tax free for these last three months in Tennessee, since August 1.

But Tuesday is the last day to indulge, as the grocery tax holiday ends October 31 at 11:59 p.m.

This tax holiday, also known as the “Tennessee Works Tax Act“, originated by Governor Bill Lee, was signed in May as a way of providing financial relief to Tennesseans.
