Jackson Christmas parade set for December 4

JACKSON, Tenn. – The City of Jackson will host its annual Christmas parade Monday, December 4.

The parade takes place downtown at 6:30 p.m., with the Christmas tree lighting starting at 5:15 p.m.

The parade starts at the Carl Perkins Civic Center theater’s north lot and circles through downtown, onto Chester Street north to Main, then south on Royal under the bridge to Frontage Road, finishing at the civic center.

The theme this year is “A Season of Giving.”

Jackson community developers are encouraging all community members to donate non-perishables and canned goods to go along with the theme.

“This year is our first time asking the community to come together and bring canned foods to donate. We are also inviting non-profits, civic groups, if you are an individual, businesses, so we are encouraging everyone to come out,” said Whitney Billingsley, the JRPD Community Development Director.

Donations are starting today up until the day of the parade and can be dropped off at City Hall, Westwood Community Center, and TR White Sportsplex

Those wanting to participate, send an email to register at jacksontnparks.gov or call the registration office at (731) 452-8382.

The deadline to register is November 27.
