UPDATE: Martin Police make arrest after fatal shooting

UPDATE (11/2/23): From the Martin Police Department:

The Martin Police Department, with the assistance of Sheriff Terry McDade and the Weakley County Sheriff’s Office, arrested 55 year old Lawrence Rodriguez without incident at a private residence on Sidonia Rd. in Weakley County at approximately 9:00 pm. Mr. Rodriquez is charged with 1st degree murder and aggravated assault and is being held in the Weakley County Detention Center.

EARLIER STORY:

MARTIN, Tenn. – The Martin Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place Wednesday morning.

According to investigators, officers found a 28-year-old man bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound on Hillsboro Street in Martin.

The man was transported by ambulance to an air evac base and flown from there to Memphis, where he later died from his injuries.

Police are searching for 55-year-old Lawrence Rodriguez in connection with the shooting.
