Carroll County Christmas Market kicks off in Huntingdon

HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — With Halloween a thing of the past, and Thanksgiving less than three weeks away, one community is bringing in the Christmas holiday a little early.

Leaders in Carroll County held their first Christmas market, located at the Carroll County Civic Center in Huntingdon.

Vendors were located outside, in the main auditorium, the hallway, and in the back of the center.

“Several local towns have holiday marts, and we just wanted to bring it to Carroll County and give an opportunity to our neighbors to come and also to support our artists that are local,” said Carroll Co. Civic Center Director Natalie McMasters.

Vendors were encouraged to sell holiday items or any other specialty items.

“Everything is Christmas and fall, because I know everybody is ready to get their Christmas shopping on and get their stocking stuffed and all of that, everyone needs to come out because we have lots of goodies,” said McMasters.

Another vendor says she had elves working in their booth.

“I’m so excited, you know it’s been a several rough years for everybody, and we’re just ready to bring some joy,” said Brittany Foster, owner of The Bryar Patch.

Another family set up shop for eager holiday shopping customers.

“We’re selling crafts, homemade crafts that she does, yard signs, vase, and I make vinyl shirts,” said Amie Clemens, co-owner of Love Linked.

On Saturday, there will be a cake walk 2.0 that will raise money for local veterans, and Beating Hearts from McKenzie will be fundraising in the concession stands. Also, a special person will be visiting the center on Saturday.

“Tomorrow Santa is gonna be here from one to four, it’s free pictures, to come take pictures with Santa,” said Richard Buntyn, co-owner of 412 Creative Designs.

The Carroll County Christmas Market will be held Saturday from 9 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon. Admission is free!
