Volunteers, recipients sought for Thanksgiving meal delivery for Gibson Co. seniors

BRADFORD, Tenn. — One organization is seeking assistance to help deliver a traditional Thanksgiving to local seniors.

The Gibson County Office on Aging announces their 31st year of serving Gibson County home bound senior citizens with a Thanksgiving meal.

On Thursday, November 23, for those signed up, a turkey and dressing dinner with all the trimmings will be delivered right to their door.

A press release states that community donations will supply the food, county leaders will help package the meals, and motorcycle clubs will deliver them.

Volunteers are invited to help with packaging the meals at the Bradford Fire Department, located at 207 East Main Street in Bradford. Meetup time is set for 8 a.m. on November 23, at which time coffee and donuts will be served, and an assembly line will form at 8:30 with the goal of getting the meals on the road by 9 a.m.

If you would like to volunteer, donate food, or if you know a Gibson County senior who may be in need of a meal, call (731) 742-2891 by November 20.
