JCS set to host performance of “The Lightning Thief”
NORTH JACKSON, Tenn. — One local school is preparing to bring a popular book to the stage.

Jackson Christian school students held a rehearsal Tuesday night, as they prepare for their upcoming musical performance, “The Lightning Thief: the Percy Jackson Musical.”
The stage performance was adapted from the book, “The Lightning Thief” by Rick Riordan.
Organizers say this is the first time this musical will be performed in the hub city, but that’s not the only thing special about the show.
“Many productions of this show will age up those main characters and they’ll be high school or college or adults playing these young children,” explained Braden Miller, Director of Theatre at JCS. “But our production is using actors that are the same age as the characters they are playing, which I think is really cool.”

You can see the musical for yourself this Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. Performances will be Nov. 9-10 at 7pm and Nov. 11 at 2pm and 7pm.
There will be more shows next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday as well. Performances will be Nov. 16-17 at 7pm and Nov. 18 at 2pm and 7pm.
