School Board signs off on new stadium, more
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson-Madison County School Board held a meeting Thursday night where they signed off on the building of a new stadium, plus more, for Jackson Central-Merry.

The new Hub City Center Stadium project is one of three parts of Superintendent Dr. Marlon King’s Community Unity project.
The project includes the Hub City Center Stadium, updates to Malessus school, and the construction of the new Pope School.
Greg Hammond, the Public Information Officer for the Jackson-Madison County School System, says more about what all the new stadium will feature.
“We’re going to have a football field with turf and a regulation track facility, so it’s an exciting time. Not only will this meet a need, a longtime need for the student athletes in our community, but also for the region. And so we’re excited about the opportunity not only to host high school and middle school events, but even larger events throughout the region,” Hammond said.
A groundbreaking for the stadium will be held Wednesday, November 15 at 1 p.m.
