Three hiring events held around West Tennessee
JACKSON, Tenn. – Several hiring events were held across the West Tennessee region on Thursday.
The Southwest, Northwest, and Greater Memphis Workforce Development Boards and American Job Centers came together to host three multiemployer Red, White, & You veteran hiring events across the West Tennessee region on Thursday.
Though focused on the veteran population, the general public was also welcomed to the events located in Selmer, Millington and Milan.
Regional employers were present with competitive wages and great benefits.
Resource partners present ranged in topic from community transportation to vocational rehab.
“The importance of an event like this is that it brings multiple employers under one roof at the same time. It’s really hard these days to try to make your way around to multiple employees to try to seek employment. An event like this is a one stop shop,” said Maleia Evans, the Business Services Representative at Northwest Tennessee Workforce Board.
Employers also accept online applications so those who were unable to be there in person are still encouraged to reach out and recognize the host of local resources available.
