11th Celebrating Our Veterans held in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. – Local residents came together to celebrate our veterans on Friday.

The 11th annual Celebrating Our Veterans program was held at Englewood Baptist Church in north Jackson.

Those in attendance showed their appreciation to veterans for the sacrifices they have made for our country.

Retired US Navy Capt. Roy Cash spoke at the event.

This event welcomed junior ROTC members to present the flags and thirteen folds of the flag

“This is such an important thing that we acknowledge and we honor our local veterans, especially our Vietnam veterans who came home to criticism and not much love. And so we can’t not love one, all of them,” said Jackie Utley, the Chair of the West Tennessee Veterans Coalition.

The downtown veterans parade will be held Saturday at 11 a.m.

Local churches are invited to ring their bells to acknowledge our West Tennessee veterans.
