Christmas gets early celebration in Brownsville
BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. – The West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center in Brownsville welcomed families to celebrate the Christmas season a little bit early.
This is an annual event for the center, and for one family, this is a tradition.
“We’ve been doing this for a long time. This is an annual event for us. We love it,” said Heather Pennel, an attendee.
This event had many activities for children to enjoy. One of Santa’s helpers had a cookie decorating section.
Children were able to be creative and enjoy these special cookies.
“The cookies are sugar free and the icing is sugar free. We did the fall fest a few months ago and now this is one of our first big events and we’re excited to do it,” said Erin Butler, the owner of “Sugar Free By E.”
This night was also magical because there was snow for adults and children to enjoy.
“I love how there’s snow like in Tennessee. You only get snow closer to January or February,” said Garland Pennel, an attendee.
Children were also able to order hot chocolate or get their face painted. Outside of the center sat Santa.
Old Saint Nick asked children if they have been naughty or nice and what’s on their Christmas list.
“I already have mine stocked down three pages worth of it. PlayStation 5, iPhone 15 Pro Max titanium case,” said Mason Hatchcock, an attendee.
Santa Claus also shared what was his favorite part of this event
“It’s wonderful to see the cookies, and the hot cocoa, and all the smiling faces, and the kids, and everybody,” Santa said.
Parents were also able to capture moments inside of the center in front of the Christmas trees.
