Infrastructure Week begins in Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. – Monday begins a week of showcasing the hard work carried out by different departments to enhance our community.

Infrastructure Week allows residents to learn about their qualifications, experiences and visions for the city’s future.

One of the expected goals of this event is to give people more of a transparent outlook at the dedication of the employees.

Employers also urge the community to connect with these leaders who play pivotal roles in shaping the city’s landscape.

“Communication where there are issues. There’s obviously a lot more citizens in the community than there are employers in the city. A greater line of communication between the two strengthens our ties together and helps us improve our infrastructure around the city,” said Austin Clark, the Public Works Director.

“The important thing is that we do what’s right for Jackson. And a lot of times developers come in with a certain project they’ve done elsewhere, and most times it will fit what we want to do here, but sometimes we make some tweaks so it fits Jackson,” said Stan Pilant, the Director of Planning, Growth and Development.

“We’re all teamwork here under planning, so we just make sure that we all work together,” said Amanda Hicks, the city engineer.

Videos and images will be shared during this week to provide a better look at the efforts of those who conduct street maintenance, pothole repairs and other crucial tasks.
