Jackson community invited to ‘Before Thanksgiving Meal’

JACKSON, Tenn. – This Saturday, November 18, there will be a “Before Thanksgiving Meal” on Airways in Jackson in the vacant lot next to Golden Tax Services.

There will be free plates of Thanksgiving food for anyone who stops by from chicken and dressing to green beans.

Food is being served from 1 p.m. to around 3 p.m.

Anyone who wants to volunteer should show up at around 11:30 a.m.

The aim is for the Jackson community as a whole to be built up.

It is an important event for people who need a warm meal or may be missing family.

It is being put on by GT Productions and prepared by the Circle of Love, which is a group of local mothers who have lost children and found community in serving together.

“It’s just really to come out and bridge the gap between the community. You know, those who have and those who don’t and let them know that there’s more people that care, you know, than, than you think,” said Katrena Howard, the Event Coordinator and advocate for The Mothers.

Organizers encourage everyone to gather, give and get to know one another while enjoying delicious food.
