Wednesday marked as America Recycles Day

JACKSON, Tenn. — Wednesday is America Recycles Day.

We spoke with leaders of Doxicom, a private company with facilities in Memphis and Jackson.

They’re a zero waste to landfill consulting firm that partners with industries to offer strategies through the three R’s of recycling, repurposing, and reusing.

There are various and creative ways to repurpose, like rubber waste used for tennis courts.

“Now, what you can do, personally. Reach out to your local recyclers, find out what they take, start to separate your trash. Have one container for things like your kitchen waster, another container for your pet bottles, a container for your aluminum cans, your glassware, set your cardboard aside,” said John Boyd Browning, the VP of Sales at Doxicom Consulting.

Browning says it’s important not to take our resources for granted and to work together to leave a heritage for our children.
