Morning fire leads to total loss of home in east Madison County
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — The Madison County Fire Department responded to a residential fire in east Madison County around 3:30 a.m.
In a Facebook post, the department says the fire fully involved a single story home. The department says it was brought under control “a couple of hours later” of responding and that the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
The home was a total loss, the post says.
The fire department did also highlight:
“Thanks to sleeping with a closed door and working smoking alarms installed by Madison County Fire Dept through the Get Alarmed Tennessee smoke alarm program, the homeowner was able to escape through a window and call for help.”
They also add that the Red Cross is stepping in to help the family.
