Giving Tuesday to begin at midnight
JACKSON, Tenn. – It is almost Giving Tuesday, which is November 28!
It is a time for people to volunteer in the community and give to their favorite nonprofits.
Giving Tuesday 731 is the West Tennessee rendition of this movement that kicks off at midnight.
They are incentivizing donors this year with giveaways and gift cards. The Giving Tuesday 731 website lists local West Tennessee nonprofits participating.
“So as we go into the Christmas holiday period, you know, it’s full of cheer and joy as we look and anticipate getting together with our families. But it’s also a really important time for us to recognize that not everyone is so blessed. And so there are people who are really, you know, struggling during this time of the year. So it’s just so important for us to give. Not only to our nonprofits but also to those in need throughout our community,” said Matt Marshall, the CEO/President of United Way of West Tennessee.
This is the season of giving and Tuesday is the best time to start.
