JACKSON, Tenn.–One upcoming event is sure to get you into the holiday spirit while helping local non profits continue their work.

The ‘Ring the Bells 5K’ will be held Saturday, December 16 from 8 a.m until noon at the Farmers Market in downtown Jackson.
The fundraising event will include a 5K run around the LANA neighborhood in midtown Jackson and a 1-mile Kid’s Fun Run.

Other activities include a Christmas costume contest, local community choirs and music, cookies & hot cocoa coffee & cake pops, letters to Santa booth
and reindeer food station.

The organizer of the ‘Ring the Bells 5K’ tells us why this fundraiser is so important…especially this time of year.

“The idea of Christmas is loving your brother and bringing hope and prosperity. For not just one season, but for that moment and then the month after and then the month after and then the years throughout and hoping to continue it the next year and follow through,” said Jennifer Holmes, organizer of the ‘Ring the Bells 5K’.

All proceeds raised will go directly to The Salvation Army and Area Relief Ministries.
