Local movie theaters to host free screenings of holiday classics
JACKSON, Tenn. — A favorite part of the holiday season for many is enjoying a classic Christmas movie with the family.
This year, there are many opportunities across West Tennessee to relive that magic on the big screen, as some of our local movie theaters will be screening some popular holiday films.
In Lexington, Princess Theatre will host free screenings of 2018’s “The Grinch,” “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” and “It’s A Wonderful Life.”
There is no cost to attend, and the community can also meet The Grinch at the film’s showing on Sunday, December 17. “Christmas Vacation” will follow on December 18, and “It’s A Wonderful Life” will screen on December 19. All showtimes will be at 7:15 p.m.
In Humboldt, Humboldt Plaza 3 will host “Christmas on Main at The Movies” on Saturday, December 9. The event will feature three showtimes for “Arthur Christmas” at 9:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m., and 10 a.m., and three for “Home Alone” at 12:15 p.m., 12:30 p.m., and 12:45 p.m.

In Savannah, the Savannah Theatre offers multiple free movie screenings as part of Christmas on Main. This year, films include “The Polar Express” on December 1, “Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors” on December 2, 2018’s “The Grinch” on December 8, “The Star” on December 9, “Ernest Saves Christmas” on December 15, and “Elf” on December 16.
Showtimes are at 6:30 p.m. each night, and seating is first come, first served.
