ADAMSVILLE, Tenn. — An investigation is underway after a late night fire claims several lives.

A fire took place Thursday night around 11 p.m. at the 5300 block of Leapwood Lane in Adamsville.

We spoke to the McNairy County Fire Chief, Steve Stoll, who shared what they discovered upon arrival.

“We got this call at about 10:50 p.m., and when the first firefighters got on the scene, the A and D side were fully engulfed,” Chief Stoll said.

The “A” and “D” sides represent different structures of the home. The A side is the front of the home, while the D side is referring to the back corner.

“We knocked the fire and when we did our investigation, we found out that we had three fatalities,” said Stoll.

Special agent fire investigators with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are assisting.

“The investigation is ongoing at this time, and the fire, as far as the origin of the beginning of the fire, is undetermined,” Stoll said.

No foul play is suspected at this time, but it cannot be officially ruled out until the investigation is complete.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
