Mrs. Sara Elizabeth Dunning, 83, of McKenzie, Tennessee passed away on Saturday December 2, 2023 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00pm on Saturday December 9, 2023 at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home. Bro. Billy Hollingsworth will be officiating. Interment to follow in Carroll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Brummitt-McKenzie Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00pm-8:00pm and Saturday from 10:00am until time of services at 1:00pm. Mrs. Dunning was born February 23, 1940 in McKenzie to the late Jamie and Jeffie Palmer. She worked for many years in advertisement sales with area radio stations. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Jimmy Palmer. On October 19, 1958, she married Delmer Dunning. The two were married for 65 years. December 2, 2023 they departed this world, only hours apart, and entered Heaven’s Gates hand-in-hand.
She is survived in death by her daughter Kim (Hoppy) Johnsonius of McKenzie, Tennessee; four grandchildren: J.C. (Lacey) Johnsonius, Elizabeth (Zach) Price, Olivia (Keenan) Bannon, and Katy Johnsonius; and eight great-grandchildren: Casey, Ross, Noah, Sophie, Easton, Abby, Oliver, and Harper.
