UPDATE (12/6/23): US Marshals share report on capture of man wanted for attempted murder
UPDATE:
CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn. – Authorities provided an update on a heavy police presence that was found at the intersection of Trice Road and Rabbit Ranch Road in Chester County.
According to authorities, the Chester County Sheriff’s Department and the Henderson Police Department received a call around 4 p.m. Monday of a man driving recklessly near Highway 100 and waving a gun at other drivers.
Authorities say when they attempted to stop the vehicle, 24-year-old Jacob Johnson fired a shot, hitting a Henderson police car, and took off.
Deputies and officers pursued Johnson through Henderson and north onto State Highway 200 until Johnson lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a bridge and fleeing on foot.
“Once the vehicle crashed on Highway 200 we deployed our drone. The drone went up and within a few seconds was able to locate the subject out in the woods. We were able to get in there to him,” said Henderson Police Chief Gary Davidson.
Johnson was arrested and the firearm was recovered.
He faces six pending charges, including criminal responsibility for attempted first-degree murder.
