The Annual Hub City Christmas parade celebrates the “Season of Giving”
JACKSON, Tenn.– Following the lighting of the Christmas tree, residents gathered for the annual Christmas parade Monday evening to enjoy dozens of floats and of course lots of candy.
This year’s theme is the “Season of Giving,” residents came together throughout downtown Jackson to enjoy the lights and music of the parade.
Parades are a crowd favorite when it come to children who love collecting candy.
“It was pretty good! It was epic,” children watching the parade expressed.
Jackson’s parade had more than 70 floats this year with some new faces joining the parade.
“It’s our first parade here in Jackson. We’re from Crockett County, it’s a huge parade so it was a lot of fun. Huge turnout like I said, and everybody was smiling ear to ear. We’re just waving, smiling and saying ‘Merry Christmas,'” Ariel Bassets said.
“We loved it, it was the first time we were in the Jackson Christmas parade and so we had a great time,” Lisa Bastien said.
The holiday season brought out the best in everyone.
“We love Christmas we love celebrating, actually we love all holidays but this is extra special,” Bastien added.
This year’s grand marshal for the parade was United Way president Matthew Marshall.
