Southwest Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation supports local FFA members at national convention
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – More than 72,000 Future Farmers of America (FFA) members made the trek to Indianapolis for the 96th National FFA Convention & Expo. Hundreds of those FFA members hailed from West Tennessee and were able to participate in a decades-long Tennessee tradition, thanks to Southwest Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation’s support.
The 69th Annual Tennessee FFA Breakfast honored those teams and individuals representing the Volunteer State on the national stage. The event was held in downtown Indianapolis in conjunction with the National FFA Convention. Students and teachers were able to attend the event at no cost to them thanks to the support of Southwest Tennessee Electric Membership Corporation (STEMC).
Participating schools from the STEMC service area included: Collierville High School, Crockett County High School, Bolivar Central High School, Scotts Hill High School, Lexington High School, Halls High School, Ripley High School, Brighton High School, Covington High School, and Munford High School.
The following teams from the STEMC service area represented Tennessee nationally:
Agricultural Communications, Munford; Forestry, Munford; Horse Evaluation, Collierville; Marketing Plan, Munford; Milk Quality and Products, Covington
The following individuals from the STEMC service area represented Tennessee nationally:
Employment Skills, Abigail Hamm, Munford; Diversified Crop Production Entrepreneurship, William Martin, Covington; Equine Science-Entrepreneurship, Lainey Hutchison, Crockett County; Fiber and/or Oil Crop Production, Michael Hopkins, Covington; American Star in Agribusiness, Lainey Hutchison, Crockett County
National Band, Chorus, and Talent members from the STEMC service area included:
National Talent, Mary Carter, Crockett County
