Club places highlight on after-school program ‘Hot Meals’

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Boys & Girls Club of Jackson highlighted the after-school program called Hot Meals.

Hot Meals

Provided by the Southwest Human Resource Agency, this program provides children with hot meals and shelf stable meals throughout the school year and on holidays.

Meals are prepared at the central kitchen in Henderson.

This is made possible through the Southwest Human Resource Agency, which manages state and federal grant programs that are designed to feed children.

“And so this program gives them a healthy meal after school, and we think it’s important. One of the reasons we do this is to feed children,” said Mike Smith, the Executive Director of the Southwest Human Resource Agency.

This is part of a state-funded program that operates in eight counties in southwest Tennessee.
