Home total loss following fire in downtown Alamo

ALAMO, Tenn. — First responders were on the scene of a residential fire Wednesday afternoon in Alamo.

According to the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department, the fire occurred at a home near East Main Street and South Cherry Street.

The fire was brought under control, however the Sheriff’s Department confirms the home is a total loss.

No injuries have been reported, and an investigation into the cause of the fire remains ongoing.

According to the department, Alamo Fire Department Chief Loren Haynes and Alamo Police Chief Jeff Sills are coordinating relief efforts with the Alamo Church of Christ to provide needed items for the family.

Items can be taken to the Alamo Church of Christ on West Church Street from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday night. Financial donations and like-new clothing items will be accepted. The church may also open for additional donations – check the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page for updates.
