Foundation celebrates recent name change

JACKSON, Tenn. – A familiar organization celebrated a recent change this morning with board members, staff, and members of the community.

The Community Foundation of West Tennessee has been known as the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation since 1985, and though the name has changed, the mission has not.

This organization specializes in helping businesses, nonprofits, and clients give back to the community through monetary knowledge and services.

Many may recognize this foundation for the checks and scholarships that have been generously awarded throughout the years.

“We will help you with a dream of how you want to help people, and then we will help you make that a reality,” said Dr. Frank McMeen, President of the Community Foundation. “We want to continue to grow. The more that we grow and the bigger we become, the more we can put back into the community.”

And to add to the impact, the Community Foundation will launch a new initiative on March 8, 2024, with the “100 Women Who Care” luncheon.

In a news release, the foundation said that following the ribbon cutting, they welcomed donors, fund representatives, local businesses, and community members to its annual Christmas Open House.

They say this event allows the nonprofit’s team to connect with its constituents, reflect on the year, and share holiday spirit with food, music, and fellowship.
