NRSF wants you to avoid dangers when driving this holiday season

The holiday period is one of the most dangerous times to drive.

The National Road Safety Foundation says the increased risk of serious crashes comes from various factors that include impairment from alcohol and drugs and drowsy driving.

If you have any signs of drowsiness like daydreaming or drifting, pull over.

They say to have a cup of coffee or take a 20-minute nap, and allow thirty minutes for caffeine to enter your bloodstream.

They add to plan for bad weather or traffic and have a designated driver whether a friend or an Uber.

“Make sure that you’re buckled up when you’re in a vehicle because car crashes, sometimes, are not, you know, always preventable. And you want to make sure that you’re secured in your vehicle as well as all of your passengers,” said Michelle Anderson, the NRSF Director of Operations.

In the end, you can’t put a price tag on the gift of life. So don’t risk harm, and if you’re the passenger speak up!
